The office of the successor to the Holland Land Company in Chautauqua County was moved to Westfield after the Mayville office was burned in 1836; at that time William H. Seward succeeded William Peacock as agent.
Abijah Gray, born 29 Mar. 1769, at Tisbury, Mass., was one of the first settlers of Evans, N.Y. He died in Evans, 6 Oct. 1846.

Most of the letters are to Joseph Ellicott, Batavia, N.Y., agent for the company, mostly from Paul Busti, Philadelphia, general agent for the company. These relate to the sale, administration, and policies of the Genesee lands and the Erie Company's plan to run the Erie Turnpike thorough Holland Company lands. Col. The Seymour Family Papers are primarily of Horatio Seymour Jr. and his wife Abigail Adams (Johnson) Seymour, their children, and their antecedants. The biographical and genealogicial notes and writings include nine generations of the Seymour and and collateral families including Horatio Seymour Jr.'s biography on his uncle, "The Life of Governor Horatio Seymour." Correspondence is for the most part family letters with the bulk being Horatio Seymour Jr.'s letterbook for 1901 to 1903. Also there are two 1866 letters from Roscoe Conkling to his brother-in-law John Forman Seymour thanking him for his support during the Blaine-Fry controversy. Financial and legal materials contain miscellaneous documents and correspondence concerning finance, land holdings, estates, wills, military claims, and an 1868 letter by John Bloomfield Jervis (1795-1885) NYS civil engineer, recommending Horatio Seymour Jr. as a surveyor. Photographs and prints include family portraits as well as those of personalities such as Roscoe Conkling, U.S. Senator, John B. Jervis, Civil Engineer, and NYS Governors William L. Marcy and George Clinton. Photographs also include a family album of Horatio Seymour Jr.'s for 1887 to 1890 set in Utica, New York and Michigan; photographs of the construction of the Panama Canal taken on a trip in 1912; and photographs of family residence including "Lorenzo" the Lincklaen/Fairchild Mansion in Cazenovia, New York.

These documents are records of the Holland Land Company's dealings with Aaron Burr in 1796 and 1799. Herman LeRoy, Jan Lincklaen, and Geritt Boon were Company agents. One document is a December 1, 1796 contract to sell Burr 100,000 acres of land in New York; it is signed by Burr and Herman LeRoy and witnessed by Alexander Hamilton and Theophile Cazenove. A second document is a cancellation of the contract, dated June 13, 1799. This cancellation is signed by Burr, Herman LeRoy, and Le Roy, Bayard & McEvers and witnessed by Theophile Cazenove and C. Hardoin. Attached to this cancellation is a plat drawing locating the land. The drawing, which has been mutilated, originally measured 15 x 19 inches

Aaron Vanderpoel (1799-1870) was a lawyer, later a judge, in Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York, and in New York City. He was administrator of the estate of William Temple Franklin (1760-1823), the grandson of Benjamin Franklin. Collection consists of correspondence, legal papers, and financial documents of Vanderpoel and his father-in-law, attorney James McBride. Vanderpoel's papers pertain to his legal practice, judgeship and personal life. Bulk of his legal papers concerns his administration of the William Temple Franklin estate, 1770-1834. James McBride papers reflect his legal and real estate activities including his work on behalf of clients living in Ireland who had legal or real estate interests in New York City. These documents are records of the Holland Land Company's dealings with Aaron Burr in 1796 and 1799. Herman LeRoy, Jan Lincklaen, and Geritt Boon were Company agents. One document is a December 1, 1796 contract to sell Burr 100,000 acres of land in New York; it is signed by Burr and Herman LeRoy and witnessed by Alexander Hamilton and Theophile Cazenove. A second document is a cancellation of the contract, dated June 13, 1799. This cancellation is signed by Burr, Herman LeRoy, and Le Roy, Bayard & McEvers and witnessed by Theophile Cazenove and C. Hardoin. Attached to this cancellation is a plat drawing locating the land. The drawing, which has been mutilated, originally measured 15 x 19 inches.

Moses concern land investments in Kentucky and New York.

The Holland Land Company Records (1909-1953) consist of minute books, scrapbooks, photographic materials, and other records. The Holland Land Co. was incorporated in 1916. Its operations headquarters were in Reclamation District 999, Clarksburg, California, Yolo County. During the 1920s, the Holland Land Co. owned more than fifty thousand acres in Solano and Yolo Counties. The company used equipment including clamshell dredges, ditchers, draglines, pumps, and tractors to build levees and canals and reclaim Delta marshland. The company built roads, bridges, and buildings on its land and planted a wide variety of crops. The Holland Land Co. was dissolved in 1942.
