American distribution and production corporation of motion pictures.
American film producing and distributing corporation formed by the merger of two companies in the early half of the century. In 1915 William Fox began the Fox Film Corporation; and in 1925, he bought controlling interest in the then largest theater in the world, the Roxy Theater of New York, N.Y. The Roxy boasted a seating capacity of 6,200. Fox Film Corporation merged with Darryl F. Zanuck's Twentieth Century Pictures in 1935 to form the present day Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation.
Sheehan was a film producer at Twentieth Century-Fox.
The television series Daniel Boone ran from 1964 to 1970 on NBC for a total of 165 episodes, and was produced by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation. The series starred Fess Parker as Boone, as well as singer Ed Ames as native guide Mingo, Patricia Blair as Boone’s wife Rebecca, and Darby Hinton as their son Israel. Set in Boonesborough, Kentucky, in the 1770s, many episodes featured adventures related to the events of the Revolutionary War.

The Edmond Pauker Papers consist of manuscripts, chiefly by Pauker's client, Ferenc Molnár; business files including correspondence, contracts, financial papers, and reviews and publicity materials for plays and other works by Pauker's clients; and a small amount of personal papers. The Molnár manuscripts, mainly typescripts, include dialogues and sketches, novels, plays, stories, and other works. The business files contain contracts for works by Pauker's clients that date mainly from 1924-1958. The bulk of the other business records, including correspondence, dates from 1951 to 1958. Correspondents include authors, playwrights, movie studios, theater organizations, and agents. Personal papers consist for the most part of bills and receipts that document Pauker's personal financial transactions in the 1950s.

Richard Barr and Clinton Wilder papers
Title:
Richard Barr and Clinton Wilder papers
The Richard Barr-Clinton Wilder Papers contain a great deal of documentation on the working aspects of the collaboration between Barr, Wilder and Edward Albee whose various producing units helped to establish a number of imporant American playwrights in the 1960s. In addition they document the work that Barr did with Charles Woodward, Jr. after Wilder left the Playwrights Unit as well as the work done by Barr and Wilder before they formed their partnership. The Administrative Files and Production series contain correspondence; production files, such as contracts, agreements, cast and crew lists, inventories, schedules, costume plots, and lighting plots; some scripts; programs; legal papers; business papers and clippings. The bulk of the documents, however, are financial records including royalty statements, box office statements, ledgers, bank statements, invoices and receipts. The more personal papers in the collection including writings, photographs and ephemera document Richard Barr's life and work. There are no similar items documenting the life of Clinton Wilder. The scrapbooks doument the work of the Playwrights Unit, mostly through clippings; they appear to have been put together by Barr.

Title:
Oral history interview with Russell R. Gonnering, [sound recording], 2006.
Russell R. Gonnering, a West Allis, Wisconsin native, discusses his service as a Navy photographer in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Gonnering talks about enlisting right after high school, at age seventeen. He describes boot camp at Naval Station Great Lakes (Illinois) and befriending a recruit from Cleveland. Assigned to the USS Hornet, he details getting in trouble for refusing to skip church to do the bosun's laundry, setting the record straight with the chaplain and executive officer, and requesting to be transferred. Sent to a photographic squadron at Norfolk Naval Air Station, Gonnering talks about jumping at the chance to go to photographic school and motion picture school at Pensacola (Florida). He describes assignment to the USS Bunker Hill in Task Force 58 and his duties on the flight deck making motion pictures of planes taking off from and landing on the aircraft carrier. Gonnering speaks of taking aerial photos of installations on small Pacific islands and processing them in the shipboard photo lab. He addresses living quarters, food, a typical day, and trading photographs for extra food. Gonnering describes his cameras and photographic equipment, and he reflects on watching live action through a viewfinder. After the war, he recalls the ship's homecoming to San Francisco and taking a picture of the sailors spelling out "Bunker Hill" on the ship. Gonnering mentions being offered a promotion in exchange for service at Bikini Atoll, which he turned down, and later discovering the job would have involved filming nuclear bomb experiments. He speaks of assignment to Santa Ana (California) filming air-sea rescue movies. Gonnering addresses working on blimps and PT boats, cooperating with 20th Century Fox Studios and Pathé News, and the new use of sonar buoys in rescues. He describes filming different types of ships attempting different turning maneuvers side by side. Gonnering talks about having fun in the blimps: observing sunbathing actresses through field glasses, dropping sandbags on cows, getting in trouble for dropping fuel on orange groves, using landing lights to confuse train engineers, and photographing the Rose Bowl. He tells of almost freezing his leg while taking aerial mapping photos at high altitude. He comments on some of his photographs and photo albums. Gonnering details landing in a blimp and recalls an accident that resulted in two deaths. He comments on being allowed to roam 20th Century Fox buildings and see movies being made. Gonnering speaks of his civilian career in lithography, keeping in touch with a few Navy photographers, and joining the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Title:
Robert W. Bergstrom papers 1924-1999, bulk 1959-1970.
Case files, exhibits, and testimony regarding People of the State of Illinois vs. Nathan F. Leopold, Jr. and Richard Loeb (1924), and several civil suits of Nathan F. Leopold, Jr. vs. Levin, et al. When Meyer Levin published his fictionalized account of the murder and trial in 1959, Leopold sued Levin, the book publishers (Pocket Books, and Simon and Schuster), and the movie industry and theatres that produced and showed the movie version. (Loeb had been killed in prison in 1936 by another inmate). The latter series of case files cover the progression of suits heard in the Circuit Court of Cook County, in U.S. District Court, and Supreme Court of Illinois from 1959 to 1970. Bergstrom took Leopold's complete deposition in November, 1960, and the transcript for that deposition is in the Illinois Supreme Court's Record on Appeal, Vol. II-A. Exhibits to the case include correspondence, publicity for the book and movie, contracts, screenplays, and books. The exhibits are in paper and microfilm format; the exhibits on microfilm are more extensive and include more correspondence between those involved in producing the motion picture Compulsion. After the legal files there are some miscellaneous files of research material and other items that might have been used as exhibits in the suits. These include newsclippings, the screenplay adaptation of Compulsion, and two articles written by Leopold on crime and imprisonment.
