Samuel D. Ingham was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on September 16. he was a member of the Pennsylvania state house of representatives, 1806-1808 and served in Congress from 1813 until 1818, and again from 1822 until 1829. He was Secretary of the Treasury during President Andrew Jackson's term in office. John Stevens (1777-1832) was born in Liberty County, Georgia. He was the son of John and Margaret McCarty Stevens and a descendant of John Stevens, one of the settlers who moved from Dorchester, South Carolina, to settle Midway and who signed the Rules of Incorporation of the Midway Society. John Stevens (1777-1832) was appointed Collector of Customs at Savannah in 1822 and served until his death in 132. He was a major in the Georgia Militia.
