Paul Dudley was appointed attorney general of Massachusetts (1702); associate justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court (1718) and chief justice of the court (1745). Addington Davenport was clerk of the Court of Common Pleas for Suffolk county and register of deeds; in 1715 he became a judge of the Superior Court of Judicature.
