Fred A. Rosenstock autograph collection
Autographs, correspondence, portraits, and envelopes. Most of the materials were donated by Fred Rosenstock to Brigham Young University, but some were acquired from different sources. Many of the items were originally gathered by Barton Orville Aylesworth, a biographer and an autograph collector in Fort Collins, Colorado. Contains autographs, correspondence, portraits, and envelopes. Most of the items were originally gathered by Barton Orville Aylesworth, a biographer and an autograph collector in Fort Collings Colorado. The materials are largely letters and autographs produced by prominent American and British authors, editors, politicians, and other important artistic and historical figures in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. The items relating to the individual creators are being cataloged separately and will be available on the Brigham Young University cataloging data base. BYU special collections created this artificial collection placing the material in alphabetical order.

Also included is a published biography and a folder with "John J. A'Becket" written on it. Handwritten and signed letter, dated 25 Oct. 1894, and composed at "The Jansen, 11 Waverly Place, N.Y. City." A'Becket informs Aylesworth that his "communication" had been received and writes that he would be pleased to give any information requested on his life and career. A'Becket also states it is "gratifying" that Aylesworth is interested in his work. Handwritten and signed letter, dated 7 Dec. 1891, and composed at "32 Cockspur St. Charing Cross, London." A'Becket thanks Aylesworth's for "your hearty appreciation of my 'Song of the Comforter.'" He expresses a desire to meet Aylesworth "in the flesh" at some time. Handwritten and signed letter composed at "The Gerard, 123 West 44th Street" on an unspecified date. A'Becket writes a brief autobiography for Aylesworth outlining his life and writing career. A printed biography of A'Becket with a portrait probably cut from a magazine. The internal evidence of th brief biography would indicate the item was probably published sometime in 1895.

Also included is an envelope in which one of the letters was sent to Aylesworth and a newspaper clipping presenting a biography of Allen. Allen thanks Aylesworth for writing to him, presents autobiographical information, and lists many of his publications. Allen informs the editor of the Cosmopolitan magazine that he will be unable to write a desired article for the publication. Allen writes to Walker suggesting that it might be a good idea if Mrs. Stephens had a copy of one of his manuscripts while she drew illustrations for it.

Autographs, correspondence, portraits, and envelopes. Most of the materials were donated by Fred Rosenstock to Brigham Young University, but some were acquired from different sources. Many of the items were originally gathered by Barton Orville Aylesworth, a biographer and an autograph collector in Fort Collins, Colorado. Contains autographs, correspondence, portraits, and envelopes. Most of the items were originally gathered by Barton Orville Aylesworth, a biographer and an autograph collector in Fort Collings Colorado. The materials are largely letters and autographs produced by prominent American and British authors, editors, politicians, and other important artistic and historical figures in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. The items relating to the individual creators are being cataloged separately and will be available on the Brigham Young University cataloging data base. BYU special collections created this artificial collection placing the material in alphabetical order.
