Langdon's papers (chiefly 1775-1781) include business and political correspondence and letterbooks; U.S. governmental and financial records, including Ft. Ticonderoga inspection instructions and report (1775); accounts of the building of the ships Ranger and America and frigate Raleigh for the Continental Navy; New Hampshire governmental records; and a few general business records. Papers of William Whipple, judge, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and Revolutionary military and political leader, who served in the Continental Congress (1776-1779), commanded New Hampshire militia in the Saratoga and Rhode Island campaigns, and was a close ally of Langdon, include correspondence, U.S. Congressional documents, and military and financial papers.
