Sir James Mackintosh was a Scottish jurist, politician, and historian. He resided in Bombay from 1804 until 1811, serving as Recorder. In 1811, Mackintosh returned to England. Robert Hall (1764-1831) was an eminent Baptist minister and friend of Sir James Mackintosh.
