Summary: Collection consists of 10 postcards of paintings by Cassidy published by Fred Harvey for the 1922 Santa Fe Fiesta, and photocopies of four letters concerning the return of Cassidy's "Coronado Murals" to New Mexico in 1948. The postcards depict various New Mexican people. The letters are by John J. Harden, who donated the Coronado Murals to New Mexico; U.S. Senator Dennis Chavez of New Mexico; Paul Jones, a friend of Cassidy and his wife Ina Sizer Cassidy; and the committee in charge of receiving and refurbishing the Coronado Murals in New Mexico. Also within the collection are photocopies of photographs of the Coronado Murals, which are now displayed at the U.S. Post Office in Santa Fe.

Summary: Collection consists of the administrative records, research files, and miscellaneous documents of the Work Projects Administration, the Writers' Program and their predecessors in New Mexico. Administrative records (series I, 1935-1943) includes correspondence, typescript drafts of proposed sections for the guidebook and various other records. Research files from the Federal Writers' Project in New Mexico (series II-XII, 1909-1971) were created and collected under the direction of State Director Ina Sizer Cassidy and pertain to New Mexico topography, archaeology, folklore, counties, place names, religion, ranching, mining, Indian history, Spanish history, and other related subjects. Included are typescript manuscripts pertaining in particular to Hispanic and New Mexican culture by various authors and cowboy writings by Nathan Howard Thorp. Miscellaneous documents include a copy of the Historical American Buildings Survey and some New Deal legislation and materials.

Also within the collection is a typed manuscript of an unpublished work on the Spanish in New Mexico by Mary Austin and Frank Applegate; a typed manuscript of a chapter on the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe from a work by Ina Cassidy entitled "The Hill Towns of New Spain;" and photocopies of selected diary entries and letters of Edward, Richard, and Benjamin Kern, who were part of the Fremont expedition of 1848-49 into the Southern Rocky Mountains.

Includes an 1841 proclamation by Governor Manuel Armijo regarding the "Texas invasion"; an 1847 proclamation by Governor Donaciano Vigil regarding the Taos revolt; and an 1850 election proclamation by Governor John Munroe. Series II includes materials on the launching of the U.S.S. Santa Fe in 1942; correspondence and photographs from 1947-1949 concerning Gerald Cassidy's "Colorado Murals"; and a newspaper clipping about Ernest Seton Thompson's 1938 lecture tour. Two postcards to the Cassidys from Fanny Bandelier were later added to this collection.
