Mr. Lancaster recalls his 1958 election to the City Council of the recently incorporated City of Duarte, his service to the California State Assembly in 1972 until he decided to retire in 1992. Well known for his expertise in local government, William Lancaster served as a member of the Committee on Local Government for ten years. Since his retirement, he has served as a member of the East San Gabriel Valley Hospice Board of Directors and of the Mount San Antonio College Foundation Board of Directors. He recently established the Bill Lancaster Foundation, a nonprofit institution which makes grants to communities.

The collection includes materials in a variety of formats, including correspondence, writings, newspaper and magazine clippings, sheet music, printed materials, photographs, and photostats, that document Metter's thirty years in advertising and marketing, with a focus on his career as a copywriter, creative director, and Vice Chairman at J. Walter Thompson USA (JWT). The collection provides a record of Metter's early work as a "direct response specialist" for the Ford Motor Company direct marketing operation, and other roles on the Ford account (Metter directed print and television promotion for Ford and played a key role in the launching of several new car models). The Jack Chernick Papers consist of primarily textual records that chronicle Chernick's career as an arbitrator, educator, labor commissioner and researcher over a period of more than thirty years. They document Chernick's accomplishments as a mediator for the American Arbitration Association, his professional interest in, and efforts in support of, the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, and his service with the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission. The Papers also underscore Chernick's contributions to the development and growth of the Rutgers University School of Labor and Management Relations (SMLR), where, as a professor of industrial relations and a member of key faculty committees, he oversaw both graduate and research programs and helped design a collective bargaining curriculum.

This collection contains correspondence, photographs, clippings, postcards, newsletters, student and architectural drawings, and other materials mainly related to Gordon Bunshaft's projects and activities while employed as a partner in the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The dates of the material span 1909-1990, with bulk dates of 1950-1979. Most of the information regarding Bunshaft's architectural projects is in the form of photographs and clippings. A portion of the collection documents Gordon and Nina Bunshaft's residences in Manhattan and East Hampton, New York. In addition to documenting his projects, the collection contains photographs and correspondence between Bunshaft, his wife Nina, and family and friends, including artists Jean Dubuffet and Henry Moore.The bulk of the drawings in the collection consists of sketches, rubbings and watercolors that Bunshaft created while he was a Rotch Travelling Scholar in Europe from 1935 to 1936. Additionally there are drawings by Bunshaft for his residences in Manhattan and East Hampton, New York. Lastly, drawings that are not related to Bunshaft's student work include an abstract drawing, two drawings for a radio cabinet, and a sketch plan of a bungalow.
