Family-owned and -operated candy and ice cream manufacturing firm in Robinson (Crawford County), Illinois. Founded by Lawrence Seymour Heath (1869-1956) in 1915 with construction of an ice cream factory. In 1914 Heath purchased a local confectionery store, which his sons, Bayard and Everett, operated until 1932. Company products include Heath Toffee Bar and Heath Ice Cream Bar. Company expanded into soft drink bottling (Robinson Bottling Works purchased in 1921 Pepsi-Cola franchise obtained in 1935) and dairy business (1927-1963; by end of World War II, operated four large dairy farms and a milk pasturization and condensation plant). L. S. Heath and his four sons--Bayard E. (1893- ), Everett E. (d. 1951), Virgil D. "Pete", and Vernon L.--directed business operations. L.S.'s grandsons continued in the firm.
