James Hervey Otey (1800-1863) was an Episcopal bishop of Tennessee, 1834-1863. His father, Isaac, was a prominent citizen and state legislator from Bedford County, Va.

James H. Otey was the first Episcopal bishop of Tennessee; George Burgess was the first Episcopal bishop of Maine. Charles Quintard would beome the second Episcopal bishop of Tennessee in 1865.
