Biographical notes:

George Pierce Baker was an American drama educator. He graduated from Harvard University in 1887 and from 1888 to 1924 was a faculty member in the English Department. Baker was unable to convince Harvard to offer a degree in playwrighting and in 1925 he accepted a position at Yale University.
