Foster, Hannah Core, 1710-1777
Variant namesHannah Core Foster was a Quaker minister from Evesham, New Jersey. She was born to Enoch and Sarah (Roberts) Core on December 28, 1710 (the 17th of 10th month, old style). Her father died when she was very young, and her mother brought up Hannah and her three siblings. She married William Foster in 1729, and the couple had 12 children. In her work as a minister Foster visited most of the American meetings of Friends, and in 1770 she accompanied Rebecca Jones to New York Yearly Meeting on Long Island. She died at the beginning of 1777 at the age of sixty six, having been a minister for forty years.
