E. Boyd helped to establish the Rio Grande Painters (1933-1936) and the Spanish Colonial Arts Society. She worked as a researcher and artist for the W.P.A (Works Progress Administration) Spanish Colonial Design Portfolio and in 1951 became curator of the Spanish Colonial Art Department of the Museum of New Mexico.

Biographical note: Writer, artist and curator; E. Boyd helped to establish the Rio Grande Painters, 1933-1936, and the Spanish Colonial Arts Society. She worked as a researcher and artist for the W.P.A. Spanish Colonial Design Portfolio and, from 1951 to 1970, she was curator of the Spanish Colonial Art Department for the Museum of New Mexico. She is the author of several books on Spanish colonial art.
