Biographical notes:
Enoch Roberts was a Quaker from Burlington County, New Jersey. He was born on the 12th of the 12th month 1768 to John Roberts and and Phebe Andrews Roberts. His first wife was Hannah Shute (m. 1792), daughter of Samuel and Rebecca Shute of Chester, with whom he had two children named Amosa and Arthur. After Hannah's death, Enoch remarried to Anne Thorne, daughter of Thomas and Abigail Thorn of Waterford; the couple had two children, both of whom died young. Roberts was a member of Evesham Monthly Meeting and Chester Monthly Meeting.
