Joseph Matlack was a Quaker minister from Burlington County, New Jersey. He was born on the 21st day of the 8th month, 1767, the son of William and Mary Matlack. He married Anne Shute, and the couple had 6 children. Matlack was a member of Evesham Monthly Meeting and Chester Monthly Meeting. He hanged himself in 1814 after showing signs of tetanus. His official death date is the 26th day of the 8th month, 1814.
