The collection is particularly strong in documenting British administration of North America after the French and Indian War, interactions with Native Americans, and the years preceding the American Revolution. The collection also includes a the Thomas Gage warrants, a series of financial documents authorizing payments related to British military expenses in North America during Gage's service as commander-in-chief.
