The papers of Seymour Krim document his literary career and his contributions to the literary "Beats" and the "new journalism" or "creative non-fiction" movement. Drafts of his articles, essays, and reviews along with published copies of many of his works reveal his creative process. Typescripts and reviews of many of his published collections are included, such as The Beats and Views of a Nearsighted Cannoneer. His unfinished book, Chaos is also represented with a typescript and notes from early readings. Approximately half of the papers consist of correspondence files. These files include letters from: Erje Ayden, Saul Bellow, Vance Bourjaily, Paddy Chayefsky, Gregory Corso, Malcolm Cowley, Fielding Dawson, James Dickey, Robert Duncan, James Farrell, Leslie Fiedler, and Otto Friedrich.
