The collection includes Maietta's personal and business correspondence and ephemera; newspaper clippings; collected mailings, publications, and official documents; photographs; and sound recordings. In addition to tracing the trajectory of Maietta's career, the collection offers primary source material regarding northern Democratic Party politics from a labor perspective, labor political action programs, and women in organized labor.

This Pennsylvania labor collection includes subject and correspondence files, financial records, convention proceedings, books and periodicals, photographs, scrapbooks, and a broadcast transcription disc. Among the correspondents are President Harry Boyer, Vice-President Michael Johnson, Treasurer and Vice-President Robert McIntyre, Secretary Harry Block, Frank McGrath, James Mahoney, and Julia Maietta. Approximately one third of these documents date from the years 1943 to 1955, when Boyer served as secretary and then president of the Pennsylvania CIO, an immediate predecessor of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO.

There is a folder of correspondence and documents belonging to union national representative Julia Maietta (1956-1962), who had chaired Local 153 and Local 118. Press releases, newspaper clippings, and pamphlets relate to the union at a national level, as does a published union history, "The Amalgamated: Today and Tomorrow," edited by J. B. S. Hardman (1939). Undated and unidentified photographs show a Curwensville union parade and a Curwensville union picnic (circa 1940-1945).
