Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. Local 118 (Curwensville and Clearfield, Pa.)
The Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (ACWA) formed in 1914. Julia Maietta chaired Local 153 (Curwensville, Pa.) which became Local 118 (Curwensville and Clearfield, Pa.) in 1935 when the ACWA played a major role in the emergence of the Congress of Industrial Workers (CIO).
