Ross, James, 1762-1847
Variant namesAttorney for George Washington's estates in western Pennsylvania, U.S. senator from Pennsylvania. As one of the federal commissioners appointed to negotiate a settlement to the Whiskey Rebellion he was largely responsible for its peaceful conclusion.
