Ross family.
James Ross, 1762-1847, played a major role as an attorney and politician in Pittsburgh as early as 1795. James Ross married Mary Woods and had three children. Mary Woods was the daughter of Colonel George Woods of Bedford who laid out the streets of Pittsburgh that are described as the military plan.
