Scribe's transcription of affidavits of participants in and witnesses to an altercation between a party of Englishmen, including Lord Byron and Percy Shelley, and a Pisan dragoon. The first statement, dated 24 March, is signed by Byron for himself, Shelley, Edward Trelawny, and Captain John Hay. Ths second, dated 27 March, is that of a witness, "Giacomo Crawford, Inglese." The third, undated, is by John Taaffe, one of Byron's party. Byron signed Taaffe's name and added a humorous note in his own hand about Taaffe's veracity.
