Carrie Jacobs-Bond, a native of Wisconsin, lived in Chicago, Illinois about 1895-1920. She was a musician, composer and lyricist of sentimental songs, and music publisher. She moved to California in 1920.

• 1861 August 11: Born Carrie Minetta Jacobs in Janesville, Wisconsin Married William (Fred) Smith; divorced
• 1895: Began submitting songs for publication after the death of her second husband Dr. Frank Bond
• 1896: Founded Carrie Jacobs-Bond & Son as a publishing house and music seller after experiencing difficulty in securing publishers for compositions other than her children's songs
• 1901: Published Seven Songs as Unpretentious as the Wild Rose David Bispham sang an all-Bond recital at Studebaker Hall in Chicago
• 1910: Published A Perfect Day; sold over eight million sheet music copies and five million recordings
• 1920: Moved The Bond Shop to Hollywood, California
• 1927: Published her autobiography The Roads of Melody
• 1946 December 28: Died in Glendale, California
