Carrie Jacobs-Bond was born on Aug. 11, 1862 in Janesville, WI; composed some 200 songs including I love you truly, A perfect day, and Lovely hour; became president of the publishing firm of Carrie Jacobs Bond & Son; published books include Little stories in verse as unpretentious as the wild rose (1905), A perfect day and other poems, from the songs of Carrie Jacobs-Bond (c1926), The roads of melody (c1927), and The end-of-the-road (c1940); she died in Hollywood, CA on Dec. 28, 1946.

She was a performer of popular sentimental songs such as those, a literary author, and, for a time, a printer. She died Dec. 28, 1946, Glendale, Calif.
