Represented in the collection primarily are Patrick Henry (1736- 1799), revolutionary leader, lawyer, and governor of Virginia; his son, John Henry (1796-1868), planter of "Red Hill," Charlotte County, Va.; and grandson, William Wirt Henry (1831-1900), lawyer and historian of Charlotte County and Richmond, Va.
