Edward Weeks (1898-1989) worked as an essayist and editor of The Atlantic Monthly for 28 years. He also authored over ten books. An opponent of censorship, Weeks chaired the Massachusetts Committee to Reform Book Censorship during the 1920's.

Edna Davis Romig was born on January 16, 1889. She was a professor of English for 36 years, most of them spent at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She published several volumes of poetry and a book on Walt Whitman. She also wrote short fiction and travel reminiscences but did not publish them. She was friends with Robert and Elinor Frost, who asked her to write their biography, which Romig researched but did not complete. She retired from teaching in 1961 and moved to Estes Park, Colorado.
