Missionary, administrator, editor, and author; born Carlos Rene Padilla in Quito, Ecuador in 1932; graduated from Wheaton College (1957) and received his master's degree in Biblical studies from Wheaton Graduate School (1960); married Catherine Feser, 1961; completed Ph. D in New Testament, 1966; served International Fellowship of Evangelical Students as: Latin American traveling secretary, Associate General Secretary, 1966; director of publishing division, Ediciones Certeza, 1972, and editor of CERTEZA, 1973; appointed associate editor of Latin America Mission Publications, 1982; selected General Secretary of Latin American Theological Fraternity, 1984; authored many books and articles; joined pastoral team of a Baptist congregation in the Buenos Aires area, 1976.
