History notes:
The Indian Committee of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting [PYMIC] began in 1795 and continues at the present time. The committee worked primarily with the Seneca on the Allegany and Cattaraugus Reservations (N.Y.); work was centered at Quaker Bridge ("Tunesassa"). The Friendly Association for Regaining and Preserving Peace with the Indians by Pacific Measures was active as a formal organization from ca. 1756-1764.
