One page typed manuscript, signed by Taft, is an extract from his address at the dedication of a statue to Abraham Lincoln at Frankfort, Kentucky, on November 8, 1911. The second page is a TLS, dated December 8, 1911, from Charles D. Hilles, Secretary to the President, to one Mr. J.E. Boos, of Albany, New York.

Includes brief essays, usually accompanied by an image, about James Killough, James Buchanan, Roger B. Taney, Salmon P. Chase, Howard L. Wentworth, J. Atkins Murphy, Major K.M. Van Zandt, and Ann Rutledge. Remainder of volume consists of correspondence in manuscript and typescript from family and friends of the Rutledges regarding Ann and her handwriting, in response to request for information from Boos. Collection of these accounts occurred at the time Atlantic Monthly printed a series of stories about letters from Rutledge that were later found to be a hoax. These letters had been in the possession of Wilma Minor, author of Lincoln the lover.

This volume contains a number of typescript essays related to Philip Pieterse Schuyler (1623-1683), and descendants who established the Schuyler's' as one of the leading families in matters of business, military, government, and politics of Albany and New York State. The "Fatts" was the name given to the farm site of on land situated north of Albany along the Hudson River. The essays provide biographical sketches of various family members, the arrival of the first settlers from Holland, and details of various family homes and haunts. Several pages are devoted to Pieter Schuyler (1657-1724), the first mayor of the City of Albany. The volume is enhanced with half-tone photographs, wood cut illustrations and cartoons, and numerous tipped-in original manuscripts. Several of these illustrations depict buildings buildings and locales no longer extant in Albany. The cartoons were mostly drawn by syndicated editorial cartoonist, Jerry Costello. Many of the manuscripts are receipts from banking and financial institutions in Albany. Cuyler Reynolds, who was a noted genealogist and family historian of Albany and surrounding region appears to have contributed to this work.

Title: Papers, 1933.

Foster's papers include one letter and an additional document from 1933. In the letter dated 18 January 1933, Foster writes to John Boos about her encounters with Abraham Lincoln. She writes that she saw Lincoln in 1861 when he passed through Indianapolis on his way to Washington, D.C., for his inauguration. Foster also says that she heard Lincoln speak at the Old Bates Hotel, now the Capital Hotel. Foster continues saying that she saw Lincoln again in 1865 when he laid in state in Indianapolis. An undated document with a printed illustration of Lincoln chopping wood accompanies the letter.

This volume consist chiefly of essays that provide a somewhat anecdotal history of people, places, institutions, and events relative to the history of Albany, New York. It is elaborately bound and profusely illustrated with woodcut cartoons and drawings, and half-tone photographs. Several of these illustrations depict buildings and structures that no longer exist. Also inckudes tipped in manuscripts and printed brochures. Many of the cartoons were drawn by Jerry Costello, whose work was syndicated in a number of newspapers.
