Also included are correspondence with lawyers, abstracts of letters and notes all relating to Harris's struggle to bring his son back from Belgium, where his mother had fled with him. Papers also include newspaper clippings relating to the World War I trench paper "Aussie" of which P. Harris was editor.

Possibly a budget speech presented to the Australian Parliament. III. Two page proposal from H.S. Foll (Minister for the Interior) entitled "Proposal for the transfer of young children from the United Kingdom to Australia during the war". Dated 10th June 1940. IV. One page copy of a cablegram to the High Commissioner (29th May 1940) seeking to ascertain Britain's response to an Australian request for looking after 5,000 British children for the duration of the war. V. Four secret reports to the War Cabinet for its consideration (12th to 15th June 1940). Includes reports by the Chiefs of Staff; summary of decisions of the War Cabinet for the information of the Full Cabinet. VI. Folio items include two hand coloured etchings (one by De Bécourt) and "The four freedoms" ([11 p.]), originally published by "The Saturday Evening Post" during February and March of 1943 and presented to Billy Hughes. The art work is by Norman Rockwell.

The papers comprise a cabinet paper entitled "The problems of Canberra and its future" in which Herde proposed the establishment of the National Capital Development Commission. Also included is a memo from Herde to Menzies informing him of the inadequacies of the second draft bill proposed by the Minister for the Interior, Allen Fairhall. Another document outlines Fairhall's draft bill clause by clause, Herde's suggested clauses and an explanation of why these are a preferred option. This paper includes pencil markings made by Prime Minister Robert Menzies. There are also two letters: one from Menzies to Fairhall re the proposed legislation (14/8/57) and another from Herde to John Farquharson (30/3/00). The latter wrote a newspaper article about Ken Herde, a copy of which is included in these papers. There is also material on the Royal Commission on Espionage (1954), Kiribilli House (1957) and the Royal Australian Mint (1962-65).

Manuscripts for Pudney's poetry collections and chapbooks include Collected Poems, 1957, and Selected Poems, 1967-1973, as well as proofs for Beyond this Disregard (1943), South of Forty (1943), Spandrels: Poems and Ballads (1969), and Living in a One-Sided House (1976). Manuscripts for early and/or unpublished later poems, 1926-1968, are also present. Some materials such as those for Ten Summers: Poems, 1933-1943 include only notes and correspondence. Manuscripts of Pudney's fiction include The Accomplice (1950), Shuffley Wanderers: An Entertainment (1948), and 'Sleadley' (nd). Materials for such works as The Net (1952), Trespass in the Sun (1957), and Home and Away: An Autobiographical Gambit (1960), include only critical notes and correspondence. There are also news cuttings books on his political career from 1958-1967. Also in his collection are personal diaries (1920-1970) and correspondence as sportsman, Minister for Immigration and High Commissioner to Malta. Many are family letters written by Mrs Opperman. There is also an important collection of letters by Sir Robert Menzies and some by Harold Holt to Opperman. Typescripts of Canberra Diary, the radio program broadcast on Radio 2GL by Opperman when he was member for Corio and the manuscripts of his autobiography Pedal, Politics and People are included. There are also business papers of the Association for the Blind and the Bruce Small publication Amazing Oppy, Greeting cards, invitations and a collection of photo albums and photo-glass slides, mainly of Opperman's Tour de France period and 2-5 inch tape records of Menzies' last election speech in 1963.
