Martin, A. W. (Allan William), 1928-
Variant namesHistorian, academic, biographer. Martin was the first Professor of History at La Trobe University (1966-73) and later a Senior Fellow at the Australian National University. Author of Henry Parkes: a biography (1980) and Robert Menzies: a life (1993-99).

Professor Allan Martin is an Honorary Fellow at the Research School of Social Sciences, Australian National University. He received the first two documents from the Baillieu Library, University of Melbourne (letter enclosed) and the photocopies and transcripts from his students (without identification of the sources).
