The collection also contains annual reports of colleges and the Board (1931-1938) and records (1957-1964) on Seminary Student Teams working with youth and children.

The collection consists of papers of Sarah "Sallie" Rogers Shaw from 1857-1862. The papers consist of correspondence between Shaw and her brother James Henry Rogers and her future husband, Horace T. Shaw. The early letters, written to her while at the Wesleyan Female College (Macon, Ga.) discuss news of home (Thomaston, Upson County, Ga.) and college life. Of particular interest are letters (1861-1862) between Shaw and her brother and fiance while serving in the 5th Georgia Infantry Regiment at Pensacola (Fla.), the Cumberland Gap Campaign, and the battle of Corinth (Miss.). The letters discuss camp life, troop movements, skirmishes and battles, and news of home.

The materials document the activies of the Wright family and contain some information on Wright's duties as minister (1872-1875) at St. Paul's Methodist Church (Columbus, Ga.). The correspondence consists of letters (1874-1884) from Homer Wright to his sister Fanny H. Wright, some while she attended Wesleyan Female College (Macon, Ga.), letters (1858-1883) pertaining to the management of the Wright household, and correspondence (1881-1883) concerning financial matters of Amelia Wright, mainly pertaining to real estate in Florida. Other correspondents include Ralph Wright, Arminius Wright, and E.L. Bardwell.

Title: Burge family papers, 1832-1952.

The collection consists of correspondence, diaries and journals, account books, notebooks, record books and sermons, photographs, clippings, wills, and photographs produced or collected by the Burge and related families from 1832-1952. Correspondence is of the Lewis/Burge/Parks and Gray families and describes life in middle Georgia for much of the nineteenth century. Most correspondents outside the immediate family are persons related to Emory College. Diaries (1847-1879) of Dolly Burge Parks and her daughter, Sadai [Sarah Cornelia] B. Gray (1874), describe life in Georgia during the Civil War and Reconstruction; that of Dolly's step-daughter Louisiana Burge (1860-1862) recounts life at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia; that of William H. Graham (1865; no relation) describes the retreat of the Confederate Army from Petersburg, Virginia. Sermons and a pocket record book (1837; 1839) were compiled by Samuel H.B. Lewis. There is also a marriage contract between William J. Parks and Dolly Burge (1866), wills of W.J. Parks (1872) and of Sadai B. Gray (1892), some unidentified journals, and a history of Mt. Gilead Church.

The collection contains papers of James Osgood Andrew Clark and his family from 1807-1945. The collection includes correspondence, photographs, clippings, sermons, poems, manuscripts and typescripts, construction drawings, biographies, sheet music, and reminiscences. Personal and official correspondence includes letters from Clark to his second wife Ella Anderson Clark, documenting his daily activities, travels, and work, including his service as a delegate to the Ecumenical Methodist Conference in London (1881); letters of Clark's ancestors (1807-1848); Civil War correspondence of a Confederate soldier named Willie R. Ross (1863-1866); letters related to Clark's employment at Emory College; and letters containing information on the fundraising for (through the publication and sale of the WESLEY MEMORIAL VOLUME, a collection of essays about John Wesley which Clark edited) and building of the Wesley Monumental Methodist Church in Savannah, Georgia (with drawings for the church and biographical information about the authors of the essays). Reminiscences contain information about Ella A. Clark, her education at Wesleyan Female College, plantation life, Clark family slaves and songs, and a recollection of slavery days by Lucius H. Holsey. Papers of Lella S. Clark also contain information on slavery and on Andrew Female College in Cuthbert, Georgia, which she had attended and where she taught. Photographs are of various churches, Methodist clergymen, and the Clark family. Clippings are about Clark's life and work, book reviews, the Wesley Monumental Methodist Church, the WESLEY MEMORIAL VOLUME, the London Conference (1881), and the election for president of the United States (1884). Manuscripts are of Clark's writings, in holograph and in typescript.
