Alleen Poer Hinton papers, [ca. 1908-1969].

The collection consists of papers of Alleen Poer Hinton from ca. 1908-1969. The papers include a diary (1908) describing her life at Wesleyan Female College (Macon, Ga.), speeches and writings of Hinton, a few photographs, and correspondence. The correspondence (1914-1969, with gaps) contains personal letters from friends and family members and letters documenting Hinton's donations to Wesleyan. The collection also contains correspondence, clippings, newsletters, and printed materials (1937-1939) pertaining to Christian relief efforts in China during the Sino-Japanese conflict.
