Of particular interest are accounts of the destruction of Hampton and the seizing of the powder magazine at Norfolk, accounts of the Meuse-Argonne offensive, and of Australian troops in Egypt, the retaining of Robert E. Title: Century Company records

The Century Company published the Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine, which was widely regarded as the best general periodical of its time, performing a role as cultural arbiter during the 1880s and 1890s. It was founded in New York City in 1881 and also published the children's magazine St. Nicholas, dictionaries, and books. The Century Company records date from 1870 to the 1930s and chiefly contain correspondence with contributors, readers, public figures, and literary agents. A number of manuscripts and proofs in the collection are extensively edited and taken with annotations on letters provide a detailed record of the outlook, standards, and functions of the company.

This collection contains one hundred ninety two cartes-de-visite photographs of officers who served in the Confederate army. The majority of the officers served as either major generals or brigadier generals in the Confederate forces. The collection includes the photographs of many lesser known officers, as well as the famous; such as Lee, Beauregard, Morgan, Jackson, and Stuart. The collection also includes photos of past American presidents and European royalty. Acid free photocopies have been placed in the original photograph album and the originals are in a separate container. Both copies have the subject's name on it. Military and professional papers of Lewis T. Pim, chiefly special orders, commissions, communications, circulars, etc., with a few personal letters, documenting his Civil War and post-war career. Correspondents include John C. Breckenridge, Simon Bolivar Buckner, D. H. Maury, G.T. Beauregard, and J. E. Johnston. The correspondence also includes letters from Edwin Samuel Gaillard (1827-1885), a fellow Confederate veteran and the dean of Louisville Medical College. Also included are numerous clippings from Confederate and post-war Louisiana and Missouri newspapers; Confederate banknotes, Pim's 1865 oath of allegiance and presidential pardon; his veterans' organizations insignia, a leaflet version of Dixie "written by Ina Marie Porter in 1861, while at school in Greenville, Ala." and a certificate of American citizenship issued to Honore Picot (1838).

The collection contains the logs of the Brandywine (8 September 1825 - 22 February 1826), the USS Constitution (23 February 1826 - 31 March 1828), the Perry (27 April - 31 December 1852), and the Germantown (15 July 1857 - 3 January 1859 and 1 January 1859 - 17 April 1860). The Brandywine traveled from Chesapeake Bay to England, France, and Spain with the Marquis de Lafayette as a passenger and Page as a midshipman. The Constitution traveled from Spain to Greece, Tunisia, and Turkey. The Perry left Brooklyn, N.Y., for the Cape Verde Islands and Liberia. The Germantown left Norfolk, Va., for Ceylon, China, Hong Kong, India, Macao, Madeira, the Philippine Islands, Singapore, and South Africa. On its second voyage, the Germantown traveled from the Philippine Islands to China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, St. Helena, and South Africa. Also included is a C.S.A. Army District of the Gulf telegraph book (12 March - 8 August 1864) kept at Fort Morgan, Mobile Bay, Ala., with messages sent and received by Page with Jefferson Davis, George G. Garner, Edward Higgins, Dabney Herndon Maury, and others, and telegrams (1864) from Garner, Higgins, and Maury. There are also notes (1850) of Thomas Robinson concerning guns of U.S. naval ships; a copy of a memoir by Page concerning an 1824-1825 visit by Lafayette to Norfolk and an 1824 visit to Portsmouth; and a 1901 obituary notice for Page.
