The collection contains correspondence; genealogical information on the Minor, Carter and Champ families; notes on gynecology taken in Dr. Theodore Gaillard Thomas' clinic in the College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York; an essay on phlebitis for a degree of doctor in medicine in the University of Pennsylvania; and a register of naval patients in the Charity Hospital of New Orleans, on the ship St. Philip (formerly Star of the West), and in the Confederate Naval Hospital in Mobile, Al. Also Confederate bonds and money; Minor family legal papers; miscellaneous legal papers re Florida property and a proposed duel between Minor and Archibald Gillespie; copies of the wills of Robert "King" Carter and General John Minor; a memorandum, 1865 May 4, of the terms of surrender for Confederate naval forces at Mobile, Al.; and miscellaneous family papers.
