Smith's lunch with Kaiser Wilhelm, 1910, and a Michigan fishing trip, 1899. Additional original material includes travel accounts to Butte, Montana, 1910, and New York, 1891; a commonplace book, 1894, of Anne Henderson Perkins Maury together with her diaries, 1941-1954; the diary of Egbert Reed Watson, 1875-1885; and miscellaneous poems, recipes, and gift lists. Research materials include correspondence of Mrs. Skeels; copies of correspondence and other papers pertaining to the Maury family, particularly to James Maury, Matthew Fontaine Maury and Dabney Herndon Maury; and a commonplace book, 1880-1885, of Lydia Ann "Nannie" Jessie Maury.
