The Hasty Pudding Theatricals is a student theater group at Harvard University that has been performing since 1844. The first productions were adapted shows of professional theater but by the 1860s students were writing the shows themselves.
The Hasty Pudding Club was established in 1795.

This collection consists of a set of the Harvard Advocate owned and used as scrapbooks by Winthrop Wetherbee. Wetherbee pasted ephemeral items, including invitations, programs, menus, and some correspondence, onto the advertising pages of each volume. The scrapbook contents are organized in chronological order and document Wetherbee's application to Harvard and his undergraduate activities, including membership in the Harvard Advocate and the Hasty Pudding Club (volumes 33-39, 1882-1885), and alumni activities, such as Class of 1887 reunions (volumes 50-117, 1890-1931). The later volumes also document Wetherbee's continued support of organizations in which he was involved as an undergraduate and include a small quantity of material relating to the undergraduate experience of Winthrop Wetherbee Jr. (Harvard AB 1926).

Samuel Gilman, Unitarian minister and author of “Fair Harvard,” was born on February 16, 1791, to Frederick and Abigail (Somes) Gilman in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Charles James Bowen, Unitarian minister, was born on May 20, 1827, in Providence, Rhode Island to Henry and Harriet Amanda (Munro) Bowen. The collection also contains three late 18th century items pertaining to Joseph Priestly, a founder of Unitarianism in England, and to the Birmingham Riots (also known as the Priestly Riots) that occurred in 1791 in Birmingham, England.

John Henry Tudor (1782-1802) was the son of a prominent Boston family who died two years after graduating from Harvard College. These papers document his studies, recreational activities, thoughts, and feelings while an undergraduate at Harvard College from 1796 to 1800, as well as his life outside of college. They include letters to his brothers, William and Frederic, and to his father, William; copies of letters to friend and classmate Moody Noyes; a book of student themes on various topics; a mathematical notebook; a diary; and additional papers related to, but not created by, Tudor.

Compiled during Tobey's undergraduate years at Harvard University, the scrapbooks provides a picture of undergraduate student life from 1908-1912. They have high concentrations of ephemera from sporting events and theater programs for Boston and Cambridge theaters. Additional items of interest include material related to the military (including correspondence with Battery A, First Massachusetts Field Artillery and photographs), programs and ephemera related to Harvard events, and letters regarding a disciplinary matter. The memorabilia further documents Tobey's undergraduate years at Harvard University, especially his involvement with clubs and societies. Included are medals from the Owl Club, Hasty Pudding Club, Institute of 1770, and Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE); a DKE iniatition notebook; two large format Owl Club photographs, 1911 and 1912 (photographs themselves are undated); an Institute of 1770 certificate, 1910; 7" x 9" photograph of four characters in the Hasty Pudding Club play "Below Zero," 1912 (including Tobey as a polar bear) and a newspaper review of the play. Other memorabilia documents Commencement and Class Day activities in 1912, as well as later reunion activities. Also included is a souvenir program for Harvard-Yale boat races, 1921, and a special police badge dating from the mobilization of the National Guard in 1919 to counteract strike by the Boston Police Force. Two presentation letters from Tobey's son, Philip H. Tobey (AB 1962), include significant biographical and background information for the memorabilia.
