Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton (b. August 9, 1757, Albany, NY–d. November 9, 1854, Washington, DC) was the daughter of Continental Army General Philip Schuyler, a Revolutionary War general, and Catherine Van Rensselaer Schuyler. Gouverneur Morris, the grandson of the American statesman for whom he was named, was born in New York and was a graduate of Yale. He was a prolific writer of short stories for popular magazines and wrote several novels. Many of his short stories were made into films, 1918-1930.
