Morris, Gouverneur, 1876-1953
Variant namesGouverneur Morris, the grandson of the American statesman for whom he was named, was born in New York and was a graduate of Yale. He was a prolific writer of short stories for popular magazines and wrote several novels. Many of his short stories were made into films, 1918-1930. He was also a banker and president of Monterey (Calif.) Bank.
