The Wilmer C. Fields Papers are a mix of official papers and personal material. The collection includes material from his service as pastor to church in Kentucky and Mississippi. The majority of the files are his official papers as a staff member of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention. The initial papers were placed in the archives in 1994 with additional items donated in 2003. The files cover a wide range of topics related to Baptist in general and Southern Baptists in particular. The collection includes correspondence, sermons, information files, committee files, subject and topical files, files on SBC agencies and programs, meetings of the SBC and its related organizations and files related to Field's professional involvement.
