Fields, W. C. (Wilbur Clemont), 1922-
Variant namesFields, a native of Louisiana, was a graduate of Louisiana College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Served as pastor to churches in Louisiana, Kentucky and Mississippi. From 1956 to 1959 he was editor of the Baptist Record, the Baptist newspaper for Mississippi. In July of 1959 he came to work for the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, serving as assistant to the Executive Secretary and Director of Public Relations. The title for this position would change to Vice President for Public Relations. He retired from the Executive Committee in 1987.
