John C. Lloyd (1796-1881), originally from Erie, Pennsylvania moved to Belleville, New Jersey with his young son, Aaron (1817-1905). He opened a tailor shop on Main Street in Belleville, and later was a Justice of Peace for Essex County (1833-1855) and a member of the Belleville Town Committee (1839). On May 19, 1824, John C. Lloyd married Belleville resident Harriet Joralemon, the daughter of Abraham Joralemon, who was presumably his second wife. From the description of John C. Lloy...
