Alfredo A. Roggiano was an Argentine poet and distinguished professor emeritus of Hispanic languages and literatures at the University of Pittsburgh. He was born in Chivilcoy, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1919. Roggiano died on October 27, 1991 at his home in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was seventy-two years old.
