Collection of Leonard Green, 1969-1999.

This Collection focuses on the contributions of three individuals to Pennsylvania environmental history who all served in the state government - Ralph Abele of the Pennsylvania Fish Commission, and Peter Duncan and Maurice Goddard of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources. The materials relate to Pennsylvania environmental legislation and the establishment of the Maurice K. Goddard Endowed Chair in Forestry and Environmental Resources at Pennsylvania State University. Environmental publications by federal, commonwealth, and private organizations are included. This collection also contains some information on the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs. The collection includes bylaws, correspondence, eulogies, manuscripts, minutes, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, photographs, poems, newsletters, notes, transcripts, and other printed material.

Maurice K. "Doc" Goddard was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on September 13, 1912. He received a bachelor's degree in forestry from the University of Maine and a master's degree in forestry from the University of California at Berkeley. Leonard Green was born September 26, 1929 in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of St. Wendelin Grade School and Butler Area High School Class of 1947. Green attended numerous college and university courses and management programs and was an active member of the PI Kappa Phi fraternity.
