Robert "Bob" G. Jones was a Louisiana State Representative and State Senator from Calcasieu Parish. He served in the House from 1968 to 1972 and in the Senate from 1972-1976. He was member of the "Young Turks," a group of legislators dedicated to reform in government. He authored the House Resolution that was the impetus for the reform. Allen Joseph Ellender (b. Sept. 24, 1890, Montegut, La.-d. July 27, 1972, Bethesda, Md.), a U.S. Senator from Louisiana, graduated from the Tulane University law school and was admitted to the bar in 1913.
