Robert "Bob" G. Jones was a Louisiana State Representative and State Senator from Calcasieu Parish. He served in the House from 1968 to 1972 and in the Senate from 1972-1976. He was member of the "Young Turks," a group of legislators dedicated to reform in government. He authored the House Resolution that was the impetus for the reform. Jones was a candidate for Louisiana State Governor in 1975, but was defeated by Edwin W. Edwards.
