The papers of [Charles] Julian Bishko contain general correspondence with faculty, students, scholars, and friends; family correspondence; academic papers and class notes from graduate study at Harvard University; and material on professional meetings. University of Virginia Corcoran history department papers include committee assignments, reports, correspondence, personalia, awards and honors, lecture notes, outlines, and student gradebooks. Harvard class notes are from the lectures of Charles Holt Taylor, Charles Howard McIlwain, George LaPiana, and Sidney Bradshaw Fay. General topics include Spanish, Portugese and Latin American studies and particularly his specialties in Spanish and Portugese history of the Middle Ages, the Iberian background of Latin American history, the history of the medieval frontier, the Reconquista, and Spanish Cluniac monasticism.
