John Biddle field book, 1760-1770.

This collection consists of one field book containing surveys taken by John Biddle and possibly Michael Newbold from 1760-1770. The surveys are of the Burlington County land of John Munrow, and at times, tracts owned in partnership with Job Lippincott (d. 1831) in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.

John Biddle was a surveyor in Burlington County, New Jersey. John Munrow (fl. 1757-1770) was a land speculator who purchased large tracts in Burlington County from the Lords Proprietors in 1757. Munrow sold one such tract on the Batsto River to Charles Read (1715-1774), who started the Batsto Forge in 1766. From the description of John Biddle field book, 1760-1770.
