Ryder was born on March 11, 1892 in Boston. He earned an A.B. (1915) from Acadia University, a B.D. from Colgate Divinity School; an A.M. from the Univ. of British Columbia; a Ph. D. from the Univ. of Chicago (1928); and a LL. B. from LaSalle Univ. Ryder was admitted to the Bar in Mich. In 1915 he was ordained a Baptist minister. Larzelere, born on Jan. 20, 1866 in Delaware County (Iowa). His family lived in Quincy (Mich.) where he graduated from high school. He also graduated from the State Normal School in Ypsilanti (Mich.) in 1889. After serving as the superintendent of schools in Lowell (Mich.) for four years, he earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan (1895). Prof. Walter S. Ryder (1892-1956) taught history and social science at Central Michigan University (CMU), 1942-1956. Prof. Claude S.
